Microplastic fibers are invisible pieces of plastic smaller than 5 millimeters. They enter our rivers, lakes, and seas largely through the fragmentation of larger plastic (like plastic bottles) that has been left in the environment or through laundering synthetic fibers such as polyester or nylon which make up 60% of all clothing.

GreenEarth has entered into an exclusive 3-way program with the Plastic Soup Foundation and PlanetCare designed to help keep microplastics out of our oceans. Our GreenEarth Cleaners who join SeaClear are provided with washing machine filters that prevent microplastic fibers from entering the wastewater stream at their locations and a marketing campaign to build customer awareness of your efforts to stop plastic pollution in our oceans.
